How to Use 1688 Products on Google Shopping

For Shopify sellers who source from 1688—not a generic “feed generator” guide. Goal: a Google-ready product feed you can submit to Merchant Center. That is not the same as “Google approved.”

Who this is for

You find products on 1688, sell on Shopify, and want Google Shopping traffic. Your pain is usually not “I need any XML file”—it is that supplier catalog data (Chinese titles, factory brands, messy color/size) does not look like Shopping-ready offers.

The real pipeline

  1. Source on 1688
  2. Import into Shopify (your importer / ops)
  3. Clean product data for ads (brand, title, variants)
  4. Publish a Google Shopping product feed
  5. Merchant Center scheduled fetch

Many tools stop at step 2 (import / translate / fulfill). AdFeed focuses on steps 3–4: Google-ready feed for catalogs that already live in Shopify.

Why 1688 catalogs break Google Shopping

Titles

Supplier titles are attribute walls: promo words, factory codes, every size in one string. Shopping needs a short, human product name—with this offer’s color/size once.

Brand

Importers often leave a factory or agent name as brand. Shopping wants the brand you actually sell under—not the 1688 shop name by default. See supplier brand vs Shopping brand.

Variants

Color / size / “style” get mixed. Keep color as color; put pattern/style elsewhere.

GTIN / identifiers

Most 1688 SKUs have no real barcode. Inventing GTINs is worse than a compliant no-ID path. See Do 1688 products need GTIN?

Images

Prefer clear gallery picks. Risky “AI remove watermark” edits can create Merchant Center policy risk.

Account issue vs feed issue

If offers are already in Merchant Center and disapproved, first ask: is this an account / policy problem or product data / feed problem?

Use the free disapproval diagnostic (read-only). Then check the file itself with the Feed Checker.

What “Google-ready” means here

Final approval is always Google’s decision. We never sell “guaranteed approved.”
